To try and provide a better service to patients and increase access to a Doctor, we are going to trial a new Appointment system from Monday 5th June 2017.
Two Doctors will be on duty every day. One GP will be taking telephone consultations only every morning, thus allowing additional patients access to medical advice as telephone consultations tend to take up less time. Patients are advised to keep their phones on if they are waiting for a telephone as only two attempts will be made to contact the patient before they need to rebook for another appointment. If the doctor carrying out the telephone consultation feels that this patient does need to be seen, then they will be booked in for an appointment that afternoon.
The other GP will continue to see patients as we are currently. Pre-bookable appointments are still available for a number of appointments, up to 56 days in advance, and same day appointments become available on the telephone, online and in person at 8.30 am every morning.
We hope that you will support us in trying to improve access to clinicians for all patients and where possible ask the surgery for a telephone consultation in the first instance. The reception team will do their best to accommodate all requests for appointments, but please be reminded they cannot override the system if there are none available.
